Hello all! Steph here for round two of roll #17. What a fun roll this is. This last half saw Vanessa at a Timbers game, hanging out with Whitney and Dave. I shot the last half while on a work trip to the Dixie National Forest and the little tourist town of Panguitch, Utah on Highway 89.

Soccer is such a fun spectator sport, am I right? I love these Timbers photos, but I'm a Real Salt Lake fan. I can't wait to catch some games this season. And I probably don't need to rub it in that RSL beat the Timbers last fall to take the Western Conference championships. My husband and I went to the game and met up for a minute with Whitney and Dave, who'd traveled from Portland with the Timber's Army to support their team. What a fun night it was.

Panguitch is a cool, tiny little town.

Hey double exposure fans,

It's time to share our 17th roll. I have to say the second half of the roll is way more dope than this first half but there is still some gems in here. Some of these doubles are subtle, you have to look at them for a minute to see the other image. Or sometimes the other image just kind of gives a cool effect, like this first shot here.

Steph was in southwestern Idaho & norther Utah.

Well, hello! It's been a while, hasn't it? We're happy to say we're back. We've been inspired to devote some time to our craft and to our blog, and we're excited about it. This post is long overdue. It's the second half of our 16th roll and it's all about good times with friends, and good times in the great outdoors.

We decided last night that we need to get some more doubles rolls going.

Hey there, double exposure fans!

Lots of stuff happening in doubles-land in the last month! Have you heard about our latest extension of the project? We are doing digital doubles over on instagram! You can find us as @thedoublesproject. We're posting there daily, so if you are an instagrammer... I hope you will follow us there. We will do a cumulative post about it here soon too.

Hi friends! Steph here, with the second half of our crazy redscale roll. When we first developed this roll, I thought it was just ok. A few images immediately stood out to me - and probably to Vanessa as well - but over time, as I've prepped these to post here, I've fallen in love with the whole roll. The images, like I mentioned in our last post, have such a hot feel. The warm tones, afforded by shooting the film through the reverse side, work so well here, IMO.

Welcome to part 1 of our 15th roll! It's a little crazy, this roll, because it's redscale film, or film that is exposed from the wrong side, which we've done before, but it's another roll that I (Steph) shot with the ISO setting too low. I should have had it set to 200, but I shot it at 50. I think it worked out well though, and gave the images a hot, summer feel, which is perfect because that's when they were shot.

After months of emails, a few phone conversations, a lot of hemming and hawing, and one day of kick-ass hard work, Vanessa opened our Doubles Etsy shop! We are so excited to finally be offering prints of our doubles exposures. We've devoted so much time and love to this project, and it feels so good to be able to send little pieces of it out into the world and onto your walls.

Hi there, Vanessa here! Today I am sharing photos from our 14th roll of doubles. We had a bit of trouble with this roll, only six came out. I still love what we got, one of the things this project teaches you is to roll with the punches as you never know how things are gonna turn out. I also love this film. I think it was 50 speed film, I can't remember the type but it is lovely high contrast B&W.  Everytime I shoot B&W film and get back the scans, I am inspired to shoot it more.

Hello again! We're back with part two of our 13th roll. This was a busy roll. Most of the photos have a lot of layers, just lots of things to look at. And please do! Come in close to your monitor and explore all the details. I think the one tiny detail I love the most about this roll is the graininess of this film. It's hard to see, I know, but it's in there. And it's so pretty.

We hope these Portland/Oregon Coast/Denver/San Antonio/Lake Travis doubles will tide you over for a couple weeks.

It's been long enough since we posted, don't you think? We sure did. Here's the first part of our 13th roll. Vanessa shot the roll in and around Portland, at the Japanese Gardens, and along the coast. Steph shot the roll in downtown Denver, San Antonio, and at a vacation rental on Lake Travis in Texas. I think this might be the most traveled roll we've got. It was fun to shoot in b/w. It was a nice change from all that pesky color, and we figured it was time.
